Luton Culture Hat District Regeneration project – up on the roof!

Mubsta Business Photography is documenting the exciting regeneration of a number of former hat factories in the centre of Luton, Bedfordshire over a 3 year period.

View of Hat Factory Luton from Hat House roof, part of the Hat District regeneration project.

One of the largest and most advanced of the regeneration projects is Hat House. This property is a five-story building comprising 12,500 sq ft – the upper three floors will consist of individual studios ranging in size and scope. There will also be a ground floor retail offer and a basement area providing a contemporary food and beverage destination.

The first main phase of work after the stripping out of the old fabric was the repair and improvement of the roof and the replacement of all the windows with bespoke wooden alternatives.

Here you can see some of our images taken from the roof scaffolding and the internal window replacement programme in full swing.
