Photographing Feast of Fire for MK:50 – a spectacle of drama, music, dance, fireworks and flame in the wind and rain!
In 2017 Milton Keynes celebrated its 50th birthday with a year-long series of events and activities across the “city”.
This covered a diverse mix of community engagement, exhibitions and retrospectives and newly commissioned works to showcase past successes and inspire for the future.
The main event was Feast of Fire a free cultural spectacle which attracted 10,000 people to the city centre spaces despite the evening coinciding with the arrival of Storm Brian and biblical wind and rain!
As photographers for IF : Milton Keynes International Festival, part of the production team, our experience in capturing people, performance, location and audience engagement, in changing and creatively lit spaces was called upon. This event was certainly a challenge from start to finish, but we survived!
